Marine Details

The last taught module of the MSc, Marine Biology, has come and already passed. Only a few more things have to be handed in before we start out final Summer Projects. And of course, today our Nature Photography Exhibition opens at Wollaton hall in Nottingham!

Choosing the photos for the exhibition, whilst taking the photos for the Marine module, influenced my photographic approach. I concentrated more on forms, details and colours than on showing a scientific subject. However, I believe that such detailed shots can also be valuable for scientific purposes, for example when showing the scale colours for determining the species.

On one of the Marine Biology days, our supervisors kindly picked up some fresh marine life from the fish market for us to take photos of. Here are a few of the results.
